Albion Online switches to free to play on April 10
Albion Online

Albion Online is a MMORPG developed by Sandbox Interactive, rooted in a medieval fantasy setting. It attracted a lot of players by offering them a plethora of possibilities. The economy is completely based on players. The game also has a greatly developed crafting system. There no classes in Albion Online, your characters function depends on the equipment they’re wearing and you can easily change it on many occasions.

Detailed and realistic entirely player-driven economy is truly unique. It includes farming, that’s much more literal, than in a lot of other MMORPGs, in Albion you can make gold by breeding animals and cultivating crops. You can also become richer by hunting gathering and mining. Beware of thieves when you’re transporting your goods, your caravan might get robbed and lose some valuable items. When you can afford it, you will be able to build your own house or even a whole city! Furnishing your home isn’t purely cosmetic it presents valuable bonuses and skills for your character. Moreover Albion Online provides you great freedom in terms of experimenting to create your own perfect build, without any equipment restrictions. Furthermore to get the resources you need, you’re going to have to embark on many expeditions to slay dangerous creatures. You can also fight other players, there’s standard open world PvP as well as Guild versus Guild combat that allows for conquering territories and developing empires.

Albion Online already got released and if you are looking for in-game currency we have a cheap Albion Online Silver that you can buy right now!

Starting April 10 2019, new players will be able to experience all of those wonderful features, without paying any real money whatsoever. This means that soon you won’t have to buy the game to start traveling through the world of Albion. Sandbox Interactive hopes that the change of business model will bring new players and make this RPG even more popular. At the same time developers announced numerous updates, mostly targeted at helping small guilds and alliances. The patches will bring a new portal system and introduce Hideouts – underground bases built by players. Sandbox Interactive is also planning to do a minor rework of dungeons, making them less repetitive and more randomized. Furthermore they’re going to add new PvP hotspots and some more character customization options.

Devs aren’t forgetting about the veteran players though. The accounts that have a Founder or Starter Pack active on April 10 will obtain an exclusive present – the Specter Wolf mount, as well as 1,000 gold and 3 days of free premium. There will still be a possibility to get the premium status for the in game currency, or real money.

A huge part of the community agrees with the decision to go free to play. A lot of the players share the sentiment that the unique character of the game combined with the initial paywall doesn’t help with growing the playerbase. Making it possible for everyone to download Albion Online for free might allow to maintain the identity of the game, while reaching more and more player population. If you’re interested in an old school MMORPG with an advanced economy, you can wait till April 10 and join the adventures in the world of Albion for free.

Granaton • 30 April 2020 Albion rocks! I don't think that there's a better hardcore sandbox MMO for players like me. F2P is nice, it might attract new players. As long as the game doesn't become P2W. Reply

Ortin77 • 2 May 2020 Ehh, if I only had more time to play this game... it's still nice, but there's just so much to do. I can never finish everything that I want. Reply
